Currently we use Sage Software (7.0.1) a fund-raising database that I find similar to RaisersEdge/Blackbaud. Since I am still learning the database I am finding that we are able to do certain things that did not seem possible last year, for instance we learned how to do mail merges this fall. I feel confident that if we research with support we could also be doing all gift receipting from the database too but have not had the time to take this project on this year.
My dream database would
Search for/Run reports:
1. Giving history of donors/constituents by giving level, to certain funds, and by years
2. To find out constituents affiliations (trustees, committee, etc.)
3. To search lybunt/sybunts that have not given for over two years but gave three years ago
4. Create reports that do not add soft credit amounts into the total dollar amount
5. On gift/payment log reports when a donor wants to be anonymous to be able to see who that is, i.e. credit information

labels on envelopes
labels for large envelopes (9X12)
to be able to create and manage event planning - invite members of our constitiency and track there rsvps, create list of attendees, and then make nametag from them.
create nametags from the database that identifies the constituency affiliation (i.e. alumni with year, past parent and years, cp and name of child and grade)
mail merges for different funds - annual, capital, or major gifts
create gift receipt letters that can be managed for different funds
